  • SafeFLASH: A highly optimized flash file system for up to 1 GB NAND or NOR flash, which executes file operations more efficiently and safely than FAT. Read our announcement about SafeFLASH end of general support and our Extended Lifetime Support Program here.
  • THIN: A FAT-compatible file system designed for embedded microcontrollers with limited system resources (restrictions on the available code space or available RAM). Visit Microsoft FAT by Tuxera for more info.
  • TINY: A full-featured, fail-safe flash file system for use in resource-constrained applications. TINY is designed specifically for media in which the erasable sector size is relatively small, typically less than 2 KB.

Rather than create an inflexible, single-function bootloader, we have a library of bootloader components that can be snapped together to support almost any boot scenario.

Flash drivers

  • NOR Flash Drivers: provide an interface for a file system to read from and write to NOR flash storage devices. Once deployed, the FTL provides a deterministic interface for the NOR flash and manages all aspects of the flash, including wear leveling.
  • NAND Flash Drivers: provide an interface for a file system to read from and write to NAND flash storage devices. A single media driver can support one or more physical media, each of these being represented as a different drive at the media driver interface. The file system handles all drives identically, regardless of their internal design features.
  • SafeFLASH: designed to overcome the deficiencies of using a FAT file system with an embedded system. Execution of file operations and the use of flash is significantly more efficient than with a FAT-compliant file system. It is highly optimized for using integrated flash up to around 1 GB. For new customers and systems using NAND flash, we recommend Tuxera Reliance EdgeNAND as a superior alternative.

Other media drivers

  • SD/MMC Media Driver: These media drivers provide an interface for a file system to read from and write to Secure Digital (SD), MultiMediaCard (MMC), or eMMC (embedded MMC) storage devices. The file system handles all drives identically, regardless of their internal design features.
  • eMMC Media Driver: The eMMC (embedded MMC) Management Driver is an extension to our MultiMedia Card (MMC) and Secure Digital (SD) media drivers. It is independent of any particular microcontroller and its MMC/SD controller.
  • USB Mass Storage Media Driver: This media driver provides an interface for a file system to read from and write to a USB mass storage device. Examples of devices include pen drives/thumb drives, USB disk drives, and other USB media connected to an embedded system.
  • Compact Flash Media Driver: These media drivers provide an interface for a file system to read from and write to the appropriate type of CF card. Each supports a specific interface: IDE, IO, or memory.
  • RAM Media Driver: This media driver provides an interface for a file system to read from and write to RAM storage devices. The file system handles all drives identically, regardless of their internal design features.

Tuxera CryptoCore™ is Tuxera’s main encryption and security library, managed through our Embedded Encryption Manager (EEM). The EEM provides a universal, high-quality standard interface to any hardware or software cryptography implementation.

Tuxera continues to support InterNiche products, including NicheStack TCP/IP stack.

eTaskSync™ is a no-compromise, MISRA-compliant, verifiable scheduler used for running tasks in an embedded system. It provides the essential functions of an embedded kernel: tasks, events, and mutexes using a priority-based, cooperative scheduling mechanism. It can be used for cooperative task scheduling in an embedded system and is particularly suited for embedded systems that require a high level of reliability and availability.
