Release of File System and USB Product Ranges for Atmel SAM3U Microcontrollers

Budapest, Hungary and New York, NY – Jan 19, 2010 - HCC-Embedded today announced the release of a complete range of embedded firmware for the Atmel SAM3U™ series of Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers.

The SAM3U family of 32-bit microcontrollers is based on the advanced ARM Cortex-M3 core. Atmel SAM3U is the first Cortex-M3 microcontroller with high-speed (480 Mbits/sec) USB support. Other features include a NAND flash controller, USARTs, SPI interfaces and a high-speed SDIO interface.

HCC has ported all of its relevant embedded products to the SAM3U line. The embedded USB device stack, as well as its FAT, SafeFAT and SafeFLASH file systems, and its SafeFTL flash translation layer. Working projects, built with most standard tool-chains, are available for standard SAM3U development boards. HCC USB host stack can be added with the use of an external USB host controller.

HCC’s embedded products are designed for operation with or without an RTOS. They can be supplied in a fully integrated state, with many RTOSes, TCP/IP stacks and other embedded components.

In addition to the USB stack and the file systems, HCC offers a set of high performance drivers for the SDIO interface and the NAND flash controller of the SAM3U. SafeFTL, HCC’s failsafe flash translation layer, operates efficiently and reliably with up to four terabytes of NAND storage connected to the SAM3U.
