HCC-Embedded Simplifies USB Device Configuration with DESCGEN

Budapest, Hungary and New York, NY – August 16, 2010 – HCC-Embedded today announced the release of a descriptor generator tool for its comprehensive Embedded USB device stack.

HCC-Embedded’s descriptor generator tool (DESCGEN) is a major addition to its comprehensive Embedded USB Device stack. DESCGEN makes the creation of USB device descriptor configurations, which are often a complex set of interlinked tables, straightforward and manageable.

Whether a simple modification to the vendor or product ID is required, or the complete addition of a new interface is required, the DESCGEN GUI is intuitive to use and obviates the need for the developer to have a detailed understanding of all the many fields in a USB device descriptor.

DESCGEN is easy to use and intuitive. Since HCC-Embedded provides a tested sample configuration with every USB device stack, the sample configuration file can be imported to DESCGEN and modified, using the DESCGEN GUI. DESCGEN outputs C source code files that are fully compatible with HCC’s EUSB device system.

HCC’s EUSB device stack includes a broad range of class driver support including AUDIO, CDC-ACM, CDC-ECM, HID, MIDI, MST, MTP, Printer, PTP, RNDIS and boot-loaders. The device stack is designed to interwork seamlessly with HCC’s EUSB host and OTG stacks, as well as all HCC file systems.

HCC-Embedded delivers its EUSB device stack, as well as other products, as part of a tested working project that conforms to the customer’s specification. Products may be ordered for most standard tool-chains.

All HCC-Embedded products are designed for operation with or without an RTOS. They can be supplied in a fully integrated state, with many third-party components, such as RTOSes, TCP/IP stacks and other embedded components.

All HCC software is distributed in source form.
