HCC-Embedded Releases Embedded USB Stacks for STM32 Microcontrollers

Budapest, Hungary and New York, NY – July 28, 2009 - HCC-Embedded today announced the release of complete embedded USB Device, Host and OTG stacks for the STMicroelectronics STM32 range of Cortex™-M3 microcontrollers.

The STM32 family of 32-bit microcontrollers is based on the advanced ARM Cortex-M3 core, which was developed specifically for embedded applications. The STM32 family uses the Cortex-M3 architectural enhancements, including the Thumb-2 instruction set. STM32 microcontrollers deliver improved performance with better code density and much faster response to interrupts. And, these benefits are combined with industry-leading power consumption.

When used with HCC’s file systems and USB products, the STM32’s rich set of peripherals provides powerful product development possibilities.

HCC has ported its entire line of embedded USB Device, Host and OTG stacks to the STM32 range of microcontrollers. Working projects, built with standard tool-chains, are available for most STM32 standard development boards.

HCC’s embedded USB stacks are designed for operation with or without an RTOS, and can be supplied in a fully integrated state, with many RTOSes, TCP/IP stacks and HCC file systems.
In addition to the USB stacks and drivers, HCC offers a complete set of drivers for the SDIO interface and the NAND flash controller of the STM32. HCC’s failsafe flash translation layer (FTL) operates efficiently and reliably with up to 4 terabytes of NAND storage connected to the STM32.
