HCC-Embedded focuses exclusively on development of software products and services that deal with file management and data communication. The company has become a leader in its field. Its product portfolio is large and growing and is distributed worldwide by a constantly expanding roster of A-list companies that operate in the embedded business.

HCC-Embedded was founded in 1999 by Dave Hughes to provide a broad range of development services in the embedded systems domain. The company's guiding principles are to maintain its focus on software for file management and communications, and to scrupulously emphasize quality, ease of use and value for money.
 
The Team
 
The company has assembled a staff of highly qualified engineers and administrative personnel. All of HCC’s people are dedicated to providing products and services that are reliable, durable, maintainable and affordable. As a result, the company has built mutually beneficial long-term relationships with many of its numerous customers.
 
Dave Hughes is HCC’s CEO. He graduated in mathematics and physics in 1984 from Sussex University and has been working in the embedded systems business since 1985. He has been deeply involved with protocol conversion devices, TCP/IP stacks, terminal servers and firmware development. He worked as the firmware development manager for a maker of industrial automation equipment; many protocols, such as CAN, Profibus and DeviceNet were used in this company’s product line.

HCC uses its knowledge and experience to develop and maintain a broad range of products that facilitate the creation of reliable and economical embedded systems. All of the company’s current products are involved with file storage and data communication. More specifically, there is a variety of DOS-compatible and flash file systems, as well as USB device and USB host stacks, among others.

HCC’s hardware and software engineers have broad experience in system and sub-system development – from concept to design and on through implementation, test and integration. The staff has in-depth experience in the following areas:
